Universal Studios Hollywood has the tagline "The Entertainment Capital of Los Angeles." And that's saying something when you're talking about a city with so many attractions and sights to see. Universal Studios is mainly known as a theme part and the site where million dollar blockbusters get made but there is even more to do as a guest at Universal Studios than you could ever imagine. Step out of your regular life working with metal coil banding machines for a day and feel like a movie star or a great film director. Or you can ride all of the rides with your whole family. Here are some of the main attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Let's start with all of the rides that are offered at the park. You can get face-to-face with a fifty-foot dinosaur on the Jurassic Park ride or experience amazing special effects when stepping into the world of Revenge of the Mummy. You may feel that you need some extra shielding to go through the House of Horrors or you could take the kids to the fun Shrek 4D area. There are even rides to take you into the world on Terminator or the Simpsons.

If you have a smaller child with you who's not ready to dive into the latest action movies or you're just the type that's more into working with gardening hand tools on your weekends than staying inside in front of the television you may still find the Animal Actors section quite interesting. You can meet some of the actual animals used on television and in films. You could also spend a little bit of time listening to some great music at the Blues Brothers exhibit.

You can't come to Universal Studios without checking out the Studio Tour. You can find out how all of your favorite actors are now entering new worlds in films like War of the Worlds and how simple equipment like cable ties can create these incredible environments. You also might have the chance to visit the sets of some of ABC's top shows, like Desperate Housewives or Parenthood.

For more information on park hours and a list of all of the attractions you can visit the park's website. If you're a resident of the Los Angeles area and your family prefers going to the park to helping fix the horse fence back at the house on their weekends, you could even look into buying a season pass.
